Debra Bergeron

Biography

I have always drawn starting when I was a little girl.  I loved to draw horses in math class, which is probably why I’m not great in math.  I always took art classes throughout school, exposing me to many kinds of media.  I always seemed to do very well with everything and anything in art.

After my first son was born, I took a couple of cake decorating courses and that went really well. I have done some amazing cake art through the years but I have since retired.  No more cakes for me!

I needed another outlet and a friend of mine talked me into taking some art classes.  I worked with acrylic and oil painting in the past, but she talked me into doing pastels.  I am going to start working in acrylics and some oil in the future.

A couple of years ago I went to Scotland to take a course in live body casting. I have worked with that here at home in Bayou Vista and I look forward to working with the public in casting and painting portraits.
