Jean Boudreaux

Biography

While enjoying 30 years of teaching elementary school, Jean Boudreaux shared her artistic gift to promote a love of art and learning.  Her imagination and passion for art is captured on canvas in a variety of subjects and mediums.  Although she is retired from the Terrebonne Parish School System, she continues to encourage the love of the arts by giving private watercolor lessons to novice painters in her home studio.

Jean began 35 years ago taking lessons in oil, watercolor, and pastels with Helen Robichaux and Connie Coogan.  Since retirement she has attended many workshops with well known artists and classes at the New Orleans Academy of Arts, learning to skillfully draw and paint what she loves most.

Jean has developed an eclectic style of painting, using different techniques from all of the artists she has studied with.  She especially enjoys capturing moments in a person’s life in her portraits. She has entered and won ribbons at local art shows and continues to develop her skills as an artist.
